Echoes of the Luna Moth

The attic sale was nestled deep within the heart of an old and dilapidated mansion, its bricks darkened with age and the windows curtained off, making it impossible to see within. The ad I stumbled upon mentioned it as an "exhibition of the forgotten", and it was this tagline that piqued my nostalgia. Yard and attic sales have always been a sort of time capsule for me, each item representing a story, a life once lived, a moment captured in time.

The wooden steps leading to the attic creaked under my weight, a warning perhaps, of the world I was about to step into. Inside, the attic was dimly lit with candles that flickered eerily, casting ghostly shadows against the walls. I was met with an assortment of peculiar items. A giant tapestry embroidered with mystic symbols hung on the far end, moving gently as if touched by an unseen hand. Skulls of varying sizes, some with gleaming gem-like eyes, watched my every move from different corners.

My attention, however, was soon drawn to an old wooden cabinet filled with glass bottles. Each vial contained a potion, each with its own unique color. Some were filled with thick, viscous liquids, while others seemed to be empty except for a glowing mist that danced within. Some of the potions bubbled, while others remained as still as death. The labels on these bottles were written in Latin, a language I had only encountered in ancient texts. I dared not attempt to pronounce the names for fear of invoking something I wasn't prepared to face. The corks bore alchemical symbols, each meticulously carved into the seal, as if the very essence of the potion depended on it.

Amongst these oddities, a familiar sight brought warmth to my heart. A rug, decorated with a beautiful depiction of a Luna Moth, the same one that was ever-present in my hometown. Next to the rug was a stool adorned with the same butterfly image. Memories flooded back - of carefree summer evenings chasing these majestic green creatures as they danced in the twilight. Without much thought, I decided to purchase the stool; a piece of my past amidst this room of mysteries.

However, as I turned the stool upside down to inspect it, I saw something that sent chills down my spine. It was a hologram of a green butterfly, a different version of Luna Moth. The image was vivid, and eerily familiar. It was identical to the symbol I had seen years ago on the wall of an abandoned castle back home. The castle had its share of tales – of the Brotherhood of the Luna Moth, known to perform dark and arcane rituals under the cloak of night.

A wave of unease washed over me. Was this stool's presence here merely a coincidence? Or is it a call, a beckoning to dive deeper into the legends of my hometown? My logical side warned against pursuing this further, but a part of me was intrigued. Was it destiny nudging me towards uncovering the truth about the Brotherhood? Or was it merely chance?

Regardless of what it was, I knew one thing for sure; I was about to embark on a journey that could potentially unravel the secrets of the Brotherhood, and maybe, just maybe, discover my own role in this grand contrivance of mysteries.

The Haunting Hymn of Halloween Night

On the evening of Halloween, as dusk began to fall and shadows played tricks with the light, I found myself drawn to the legends of the old castle atop the hill. The tales told in the village were of strange occurrences and mysterious gatherings at the castle every Halloween night. My curiosity was greedy, and this Halloween, I decided to see what the fuss was all about.

Approaching the castle was an experience in itself. Ancient walls, draped in ivy and blackthorn, loomed ominously as if ready to ward off unwelcome visitors, cloaking the path in unease. But what truly piqued my interest was a haunting, rhythmic chant echoing from within the castle grounds. With every step I took, the sound became clearer and more enticing.

As I reached the top, I discovered the source of the sound. A ritual was in progress. The atmosphere was thick with mysticism, and I instinctively took cover behind an old stone wall, peeking out just enough to witness the scene unfold.

The men in cloaks, their movements synchronized, seemed deeply engrossed in their ceremony. The bats (or were they something more sinister?) danced in the air, creating patterns and shapes that seemed unnatural. I looked closer, the glowing circle with the pentagram painted in what seemed like blood mesmerized me. The eerie statue of the dark deity, the torch's flame flickering in its hand, stood as a testament to their worship.

But what truly took my breath away was the smoky apparition behind the altar. The mist and smoke solidified into a cloaked figure. Was this their god? The entity they sought to summon?

Overwhelmed by the scene and the implications, I impulsively took out my phone and snapped a picture, hoping to capture proof of this forbidden ritual. But the universe had other plans. The very second the shutter clicked, the chanting ceased. A palpable silence hung in the air. The central figure, with the crown, slowly turned his head in my direction.

Fear, sharper than any blade, coursed through me. I crawled on all fours, trying to distance myself from the site, before breaking into a desperate run. The woods around the castle became a blur as adrenaline fueled my escape. Somewhere along the way, everything went black.

I awoke with a start, drenched in sweat and tangled in my bed sheets. The chilling events at the castle felt like a vivid nightmare. But was it? Fumbling for my phone, I unlocked it and opened my gallery. And there it was, the irrefutable evidence of the previous night's events - a picture of the ritual, the cloaked men, the dark deity, and the ghostly apparition.

Space Odyssey

You've probably noticed that I have been away for awhile. For the vacation actually, but I have to say it was the strangest vacation in my life so far. Here there are some impressions for you to see.

The naughty side of Jonathan Smithy

We still have some more houses to visit. So, today we are going to invite ourselves to the house #2 decorated by Jonathan Smithy. And here we see another very good example that perfectly fits the village spirit. What is more welcoming and appealing when you are get a bottle of a nice dark ale? I guess I could spend hours behind that table drinking ale, having some funny talk with friends and observing the village life through the window.

And well, let me be very honest to tell you that the nice and relaxed home like feeling is not the only thing that attracts my attention here. I am also very interested in a darker side of Jonathan. I don't know whether he is a vampire, a lycan, a hybrid or a human, but there is definitely a darker side inside him. Look at this corner! I think it's more lycan related. Cause why otherwise he placed the picture of that Big Moon above his bed? Or the Moonshine drops around that guy's mouth on the wall?

And as the title of this entry suggests, Jonathan also does have a naughty side. I am not sure what it is yet, but look at the expression of that pumpkin face. He is definitely up to something... Don't let this charming smile to fool you...

The scariest night on Fogo Loch

Tonight was the scariest night on Fogo Loch  as Rhys Calhouon has taken us to the Unguided Tour through the Haunted Hotel. Some guys were scared to death before the tour started and left. Some needed to change their underwear several times during the tour. I am not sure how many of us are still alive. I am writing this entry now hiding in the closet of the hotel, but not sure how long it will take before they find me...

So, you understand - it was a great success. And for those who couldn't be there, just ask that creepy wolf on LP for the Landmark and make your own experience.  But I'd say it's much more fun to do it in a group. So, take someone with you. You can also ask for the LM from anyone who was there tonight. And here there are some impressions of the Haunted night. Spoil alert! Don't look further if you prefer not to know what awaits you at the Hotel.

And let's thank Rhys and his little creepy assistant for the wonderful experience.

House decoration contest

To celebrate the new village and to stimulate the creativity of Fogo Loch , the house decoration contest was announced. The guys who got their new houses in the village could take the challenge and exercise their decorating talents.

The results of the contest were announced yesterday on the Formal dance party of Fogo Loch by King Perseus and the village creator Wayne. The party itself, nicely decorated by Randy Firebrand was a success. But... the winners first.

The second winner of the contest was Snow. Funny, but Chris Chronicles appeared to have a separate dossier on this guy as just a couple of days ago I was invited to visit his home. So, please enjoy the rustique style of the "wolf whisperer" here in this entry.

And now our full attention goes to the winner of the contest, the Fortune Teller Page. The Fortune teller? Well, here you see why. He seem to give spiritual readings and predict the future for the guys who are in an urgent need to know whether they meet a Prince on a White Horse or can make a Fortune by demonstrating their dancing skills in a strip club. Or any other question else.

Not sure if Page was using his magic charms to effect the results of the contest, but I have to say, his decoration is impressive. It fits the spirit of village and the fantasy theme of Fogo Loch. It's very detailed and thoughtfully combined. It fills like those cosy antique shops of 1000 and 1 things having almost everything you might need at the moment. I bet it's full of magical amulets and potions for any purpose. And the most important - it's low prim. Wayne emphasized his admiration for a very efficient prim use for this project.

And here is one more shot of the house. I know guys, you always like to know if someone has a bed, how big it is and what animations are included. Well, here is Page's bed - it's quite warm and is suited for two (or even three). And as for the animations - well I'd say - knock at the door of the house #1 and ask if you can test them yourself. And if you can't fall asleep there, just look at the chart hanging on the wall. Just observing it for a minute or two and trying to understand all those sophisticated ways destiny hides from us is exhausting enough to fall asleep quickly.

\
Unfortunately Page couldn't attend the party, so I can't tell you how sexy he looks in his tuxedo. But hope to get the answer soon. Stay tuned, guys!

Bridge to the Fairytale

Nice to come back to SL. I guess it is its Fantasy aspect offering a nice escape from reality is what I was missing a lot. But finally I found that bridge to the Fantasy Land again.

Coming home

Yesterday I came back to Fogo Loch for the first time after a long period of absence. It was a very strange feeling. The LM point was looking very familiar and gave me that Home Sweet Home feeling. But at the same time, looking at all the new guys there I was kind of asking myself "Who are those people!". And to make that initial shock even worse I found that one of my most favorite place on Fogo Loch has gone... Well, it will always remain in my memories and on this picture.

The mansion is gone forever to make place for a village. So very carefully I was walking on the familiar land observing the landscapes I couldn't recognize till I discovered the perfect place I needed. A tavern. Full of different sort of liquids and magical potions to forget the problems, brighten the world and warm the spirit. A Satyr barmen was very eager to please a random adventurer and offered me a drink. A double portion of whisky was exactly what I needed.

I looked around once more after the glass was empty and the village was not looking that strange to me anymore. That Sweet Home feeling was coming back again. In fact I noticed that the village suited Fogo Loch very well, I guess it was the missing part that finally found its place now. Fireplace was the only place I was feeling nervous about. Well, it was actually talking notifying everyone in the room when the new log was put in it. A creepy thing I'd say, but I guess I just need some time to get used to it. Who knows, may be one day I even fancy a small talk with that creepy Fireplace. And yesterday, well, the Satyr Risi was entertaining me with his chat. I guess he tends to use quite sophisticated language sometimes, but he is a Master of entertaining sarcasm who helped me to enjoy my first evening back home.

Visiting Ruins on the Lycan Moon

Ruins on the Lycan Moon

It was a total crazy idea to visit the ruins just before the sunset. They look so beautiful, almost magic under the golden sunrays. But wasn't I warned about this place after the dusk? I notice a lycan statue there. Would it still be the statue when not the sun, but the moon comes to shine on it? The Sun will be gone just in several minutes. The Moon is already rising. I have to go, to run away as soon as I can, but I can't. The strange hypnotic power tries to hold me here. As if I hear someone's whispering to stay and join the feast that will break out tonight. A sweet poison of temptation that takes over. I resist... I almost give up... and finally I find the power to run away... But I know that I come more often from now.

The Rising of the Dark Prince

The Hero left this world early in the morning to fight the dark world. Full of courage he swore to cast down the Prince of Darkness and free the human race from his power. He killed the Cerberus, the guardian dog of Hell, so he could enter the other side. And finally he found the Prince of Darkness and frighted him and defeated. He took his crown as a symbol of the victory. And now the Hero is back appareled in his trophies. But the Sun went down when he came and water was burning under his feet. The bloodcurdling fear filled the world of the living as they saw the New Prince of Darkness rising. The Hero has not even noticed when he became one. And now the new fight is waiting - the fight with his own dark side. Would he win this battle? Or is acceptance the only outcome?

Living the life of a Gentleman

It's waking up early in the morning, before the sunrise and meeting the rising sun on a top of the Eiffel tower, right in the middle of Paris of XIX's century. Chatting with your best friend about the philosophic matters of life. And than just jumping into the new day with a parachute... to find a nice cosy cafe to continue the high society talk.

On the picture: In Paris with Servius Alecto.

Demon character

Sometimes you meet Demons in SL. And each of them has its own story. I can tell you mine.

The Demons are the powerful entities, who can concentrate on one certain task within the domain of his power. A magus can call the Demon if he knows his name. He can force the Demon to serve him if he posses the seal with the Demon's name on it. In this case Demon agrees to perform a single task the magus may require, but always for a price.

I was called by a vampire magician who required my services. I've done what he asked and as a price I wanted to spend a part of my eternal life as a human being. And with the power of the magician my wish was fulfilled.

When I was turned into a human I lost my Demonic shape, but I still keep some rudiments. Like a tail I hide inside my pants. Or a couple of horns I wear under my hat. And sometimes I like to put my special suit on made from a dragon lizard's leather. Its scaly structure reminds me of my Demon skin I used to wear sometimes.

I don't posses the Demon's energy anymore. But I keep some habits I used to have. I drink blood sometimes as easy as I'd drink a glass of a good red wine. I come to dark creepy places where I can feel myself at home. Sometimes I fall into a hermit state and spend time being a silent witness of life events. And well, I guess I still have a tendency to collect the souls. So, I don't mind to get yours too.

And well, being a human I guess I started to develop an interesting hobby. Photography. The way to remember the precious moments of my human being... In case my memory will not be able to keep them all.

The pictures is made in Demon Area of Fogo Loch.

SLpicture: Hotel The Road to Hell

You can't find this hotel on the map. And it's not listed on the Yellow Pages either. It seems like it doesn't exists and yet it can find a lonely wanderer who is searching for adventures. Mostly on a stormy day in the middle of the nowhere it appears in front of a desperate stranger who has lost all hope to find a shelter. First its contours appear slowly through the mist. And than the reception suddenly faces the adventurer.

It's a creepy place that can frighten everyone. Just the look of this place gives an immediate command to the common sense: "Run away, right now as far as you can. Just away from this place and pray never find it again". But a desperate traveler who is tired and hungry can't notice the danger. He would be just glad to find his shelter.

Welcome to the reception of the Hotel The Road to Hell. The check-in is easy. No credit card or cash needed. You can pay later. There are free rooms and you can stay as long as you wish. No, there is no a check-out hour. Don't worry about anything, just come in. Here is your key. And, well, just leave your luggage here. I'll take care of it. You'll not be needing it anyway once you come inside...

No words today, just pictures of a Dreamflight I made last week. Thanks to Servius who has suggested this experience to try it after discovering it on Benjamin's pictures. I've already shared them on my Facebook. But let those pictures be here as well...

Fogo Loch Lake II: our marine family members

I hope you have enjoyed the swimming guys on Epic's pictures I've shown you yesterday. Today I promised to show you our marine family members. You don't see them often. But if you are patient to wait long enough  near the silent surface of a lake on a quiet day, you might be rewarded with a beautiful dance performed by Anne and Toni.

And to see more, you need a deeper dive and be able to stay for a long time under the water. So I was very glad with that gift I got from our generous Baroness Anne. She gave me the aqualung, so I could patiently wait for  our marines to come.

Luyten was the first guest who came to welcome me. You remember that elvish sharpness in his face? Well, he is also a mermen. And he is very quick underwater. I could barely make a picture of him. But well, here is a nice trial.

And here is our Anne again. A Baroness of our Family on the land she is a true Queen underwater.

The butler fish are always ready to serve their Lady.

And here is our Toni, the guy who makes wonderful posters for Fogo Loch. He looks like a true King underwater.

A Royal Dance I was invited to watch was charming...

More creatures of the lake came to look at me driven by their curiosity...

Unfortunately, the air in my aqualung was finished, so I had to return to the Landing Point just at the moment when the nice underwater feast seemed to begin...
